Prof. Dr. Thorsten Steiner (Frankfurt) gives the first lecture on "Management of intracranial bleeding in patients treated with oral anticoagulants". Among other things, he discusses Factor Xa as Therapeutic Target and as a Contributor to ICH and presents an interesting patient case. After that he provides information about ANNEXA-4 Study design.
PD Dr. Oliver Grottke (Aachen) then gives you an "Update on efficacy and safety of DOAC antidots". He focuses on current Antidots for Faktor Xa inhibitors and informs you about reversal agent and bleed characteristics and healthcare resources utilization. Last, he compares andexanet alfa vs. PCC and presents ex vivo data.
The last topic is "Monitoring of DOAC-concentrations in emergency situations?!", presented by Prof. Dr. Michael Spannagl (München). He gives you an interesting example of a patient requiring revision of hip prosthesis and talks about therapy with dabigatran and rivaroxaban.
